Description

As an artist, over time, I've found I don't perform very well "on demand." Which is probably why I don't enter a lot of contests on ANY art site; I have entered a few, yes; after being pushed by a few Swabbie friends ;-) Creatively speaking, it's easier for me to allow my creative Muse to have her way with me; and let the ART result speak for itself. That's the wonderful thing about GraphFX as a medium; you can talk the talk, walk the walk all you want; but in the end, there's the "Show me what YOU got" time that leaves NO room for BS, eh? That's WHY CGI or CGIR Computer Graphics Index Resume's are so important! Before I ever posted (published) my first design, I was told that any serious graphics designer should keep a personal CGI. A thumbnail copy of an artist's PUBLISHED designs copied, pasted on a blackwall, with the title and date of publication printed under each thumbnail. I'm very behind on this. :( I recently got a note from Steve Sisk, aka sgtgrandpa over on www.deviantArt.com, who, as the Co-founder & Owner of Wicked Landscapes wrote informing me, that my "Cedars of Illysis" had been selected as a Poster Boy for their Wallpaper Pack, which is now scheduled for end of November World Wide release. In deciding to do a screen shot for my"Graphics Awards & Hodge Podge" folder here on deviantArt, I realized that some of my artists friends here on dA, and my friends on R'osity, desiring to be perceived as serious artists, might be unaware of a CGI's importance as a provenance of their work. I'm only passing on a tip; not critiquing any one. Thank you. Semper Fi ~SAZ~
