Description

This was a picture I thought was spectacular when I took it, until I got home and saw all the noise in the shot. It's sat for a long time until I found a processing combination that gave a good but not great results. It's another IR shot, and for those who haven't seen these before what looks like sunrise in winter was actually midday in summer.

Ah! That explains the exceptionally heavy "frost." Very good photo. Noise and all :)

Are you using an IR filter like a Hoya R72 or has your camera been converted to take IR photos? If you have an image editor like photoshop or Paintshop, you can apply a bit of blur to a duplicate layer and then blend them together to get rid of noise. There are also plugins like Noise Ninja and Neatimage that can be used for this as well.
