I've worked with many digital media applications over the years, and here you can find both my experiments and my finished pieces of work created with those applications.
Here you can also find photos I have taken, as well as poems I have written.
Everything you see in my gallery, unless otherwise stated, was created by me and remains my intellectual property. If something was created by someone else, I will say so.
Hope you enjoy having a look through my gallery and maybe even read my bio.BIOThings have changed since early 2002 when I first wrote my bio here. Since then, I feel that I have matured as an artist.
My interaction with computer graphics began years ago, when I was playing with Life Forms, a primitive version of Poser, on my 10-year-old Mac. Years later, I aquired Bryce and from there on I got a taste of other programs such as Vue d'Esprit, ZBrush, Amorphium, Terragen and many others. I had some images in which I used up to 6 or 7 different programs to get the final product. I soon realized how wrong that was.
I came to see that knowing a tiny bit of everything came nowhere near to knowing a lot about some things. So I focused onto one program and tried to channel my creativity out through it.
I chose Lightwave, basically because it was the only serious graphics application my computer could run. Having gotten used to much simpler programs such as Bryce, the difficulty of learning Lightwave could not have been steeper.
I've found a home away from home now in Lightwave and even though I still depend on other programs for certain elements in my work, one day I will need those no more.
I say a home away from home, because for me, my ultimate destination is something of the calibur of Maya. It does not really matter to me whether it is or isn't the best graphics application out there. When I have earned enough to be able to afford Maya, to me, it will mean I have earned the right to elevate myself to the level where the software will not guide me, but rather I will guide and channel my thoughts through it, give them form, give them colour, give them life. By then I will have reached the stage where I can truly create art.
Now, if you haven't fallen asleep through that, feel free to browse through my gallery or free stuff, maybe you'll find something interesting or exciting, or maybe you'll even find some art!

not a bad attempt at all. The design of the ship is pretty cool. I think once you get some texture on it, it won't look so "50's sci-fi". I like the dented look of the metal, as if it is some soft metal that had been hammered.
RaysOfLight
making a texture for it was one of my goals i composed it the wrong way though, i should have done it so i can have a separate texture for the wings, separate for the bottom and separate for the top oh well, that's all coming up :p

Excellent can you smooth it a little more and why not go and download all the tuts you can find for 6.5 instead for now until the tuts for 7.0 start coming in...
Guillermo
The background with nebulas is great!!! The textures on the spaceship are really cool, did you do them? if you did, great work, if not, great work too ;-) I like the shuttle, try to add more details like panels, some position lights,... Finally, check this out, dont worry if the tutorial is for 6 or 6.5, works for version 7 too. "http://members.shaw.ca/lightwavetutorials/Main_Menu.htm" Hope this helps ;-)

alrighty :) i'll have a look at it soon as i can thanks for the comments :)

Sorry but your picture is "b" class of rendering industry. Maybe i'ts your first time on lightwave but this is not so impressive...
dandavis
Hey Ray, don't get discouraged by negative comentary. Maybe you are new, maybe you aren't but the main thing is you are trying. There are so many people out there who have no idea what it takes to make a descent 3D model. I think your on the right track! :) Keep on rendering my friend.
Moebius87
RaysOfLight... don't worry about how people react to your artwork, the important thing is that you are learning and that you are enjoying this art form as a means of expressing yourself. I agree with dandavis, I think that you are definitely on the right track! And if you ever need some help or pointers not covered in any tutorials post it up in the LW Forum. Almost everyone there will offer a helping hand. :o) - Cheers! M

alrighty :) thanks for all your comments people i really didn't expect this much response heheh

Very very commendable my friend - yet another example of you daring to try another 3D program, and Lightwave is no easy piece of software to use. As both Moebius and dandavis wisely stated, pay NO ATTENTION to the ranting of trolls who zip in, rip your efforts apart in public, offer no help or advice, and leave feeling 'oh so superior'. I've no use whatever for such thoughtless individuals, and I make a note of their handles in a book beside my computer - so that I never honor their work with a comment - good or bad! Your efforts at trying to construct a spaceship with Lightwave places you in a wonderful new and exciting learning arena. Hat's off to you my friend because you try, and you share with others all your efforts.

Hi Ray, I must agree with the others. (except DeaD) Space Shuttle is very good. Trying to use light wave is no small task. Using textured sphere's as nebula's is a great idea. You might try blurring the edges of your engine flames. Great Work
