Thanks for all your comments! [Editor Note: I wish the trees were greener. All of the Dolomites pictures contain dead and dying trees. Personally, it's cause for worry. What's up with that? Portend of an ecological problem nobody knows how to solve? An immediate flush of good mushrooms might be one silver lining.] Enjoy!

What a really breathe taking view....why is it that dead and dying trees are artisticly more interesting to look at than green living trees?....my guess is that the leaves hid a part of the tree that is very interesting to view....namely the twisty and textured branches and trunk. There does seem to be an overabundance of dead trees in this shot and I wonder if being so close to the tree line has anything to do with it.
