Description

This is a follow on from yesterdays image.This is the Langdale Valley from the opposite side. The walk we did started down in the conifers in the middle foreground and you can see the zig zag path we took from the conifers and up the hill side.We went higher than this but this was the best place for a shot of the valley. The walk I mentioned with yesterdays image roughly follows the river you can see running thru the centre of the valley then turns left at the conifers and heads towards the little farm at the base of the hillside and returns by following the line of the wall about a quarter of the way up the far hillside. The water you can see in the distance is Lake Windermere, a very popular place for tourists but it is when you get away from the hustle and bustle of day trippers that you find these wonderful places. For those who may know the area a little just behind me on this shot is Harrison Stickle and Pavey Ark. As the little road winds its way out of the valley to the right it goes over a very steep hill and heads towards Little Langdale but on the way there you will find a small tarn ( tarn meaning small lake ) called Blea Tarn which is another wonderful flattish short walk.
