Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image. This is a fairly large spider. The body is about 1 1/4" (30mm) long and with the legs, it would definitely fill the palm of my hand. It is one of the fishing spiders and is often called a Nursery Spider. They look pretty wicked but although they will bite (especially while tending to their egg case or their young) but they are not poisonous. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

It actually seems to care or something. I figured them just laid 'em and walked away. Cool shot. The face is very clear.

a very beautiful photo! We have here only tiny spiders. The largest is the European garden spider with a body length of 18 mm - in addition, only the female.
