A Dutch good friend introduced me to R'osity... and now, I really feel good in this community : I enjoy a lot your friendship and comments !BIOWith a few exceptions (indicated), I'm using a simple CANON Digital IXUS i... Sometimes, I do some postwork using ArcSoft PhotoStudio 5, but I just installed Adobe PhotoShop 7.0...
But now, after having seen all these beautiful shots, I just bought (Nov 2004) myself a new camera : NIKON 70 D !
I'm a chemist, leading a small R&D team in polymers (My greatest pleasure is to stimulate creativity...) I'm also studying to become a patent attorney...
I'm living in Belgium and enjoy travelling, hiking (going out every week-end is a vital must !), reading (my French preferred authors are Marc Ly, Jean-Christophe Grang Amie Nothomb,...), music (great fan of US female voices : Jennifer Warnes, Natalie Merchant, Sarah McLachlan, ...) and ... photography ! :~)
Bien cordialement aussi aux amis francophones !

BORIS! Looks like a wolf spider. They actively hunt their prey and have the best eyesight of all spiders. Only a few spiders are poisonous. The nasty one is the Sydney Funnel Web.

This is a gorgeous photo! I happen to love spiders--something about creatures with spring-loaded, venomous mouth parts! Ah, but enough of that. The details on this are amazing, and I particularly like the sharp capture of the pattern on the spider's abdomen...you even got his fangs nicely captured. Great work here! This is definitely a picture that invites and rewards multiple viewings...and yeah, I love spiders. Apparently if they're in your house, you should leave them, as they bring luck.

I like spiders, unless they are a threat to humans. Most aren't. They help eat bugs I'd just as soon do without. Our oldest son kept a tarantula for awhile, and he had a pregnant wolf spider, who had 100 babies, and he accidentally let them out in his room. I told him, "Your room, your problem!"
