Description

As we came down I looked at the trucks a little more closely. I noticed a Kenworth with Michellin 295 R75 tires on 24.5 inch diameter wheels to assure me I wasn't seeing things 8 or 10 years ago when I saw a tractor on 23.5 inch. He left and a Volvo pulled in. The fronts were 22.5s but the rear were Michellin duplex 455 R 50 on 22.5 inch instead of duals. The trailer also rolled on duplex double wide tires. I was to see more of theses in rest stops and on the road maybe less than 15% of all the vehicles maybe less. Then at a rest stop I decided to get some input on my transmissions. I saw a Freightliner tractor again on 24.5's but this time Continentals. I saw a man coming down the walk. a young driver. I asked him how many gears his truck had. He said 13. Most trucks have 10 he offered. I noted I had been following up a story about a 13 speed Roadranger since the 50's. He had no auxilliary and hauled from Texas to Pennysylvannia. He saw more gears as a way to pull bigger loads not match local grades and winds. I mentioned the rockies and the Cascades and he got thoughtful. Then I asked him about the 24.5's and he inssited his truck was rolling on 22.5's. I mentioned it was on Continentals and he said yes it was so he would know I had looked. So there you go. I made this truck just to show the scale of a 10.00x 20 which was the biggest tires sen in the town i grew up in. We passed a Volvo dealer who was also selling Macks and GMCs. No Whites though. The Volvo site has a lot on CAD for bodybuilders and buyers to decorate their trucks. This is my own effort and tied to a Goebbel beer delivery truck I used to see before 1955. Volvo mentions that as a a big early user in Sweden. This truck was blue and white in National Bohemian colors last I saw but was grey with orangish red for at least ten years before that. Brewster the Goebbel rooster strutted on it.

This lovely Swede doesn't need a billboard, or logo with a driver like her. I'm not familiar with Goebbel beer, but I'd try a glass if she was the driver/saleslady.

Impressive how Lara Croft is holding up the truck to prevent it from falling over. And, I admit to being awestruck by your narrative on things automotive.

we have all heard how a mans feet relates to his standing. Here we have a tuck with BIG traction and versatile transmission - looks like the lady appreciates her motors. ;) she could transer energy herself pretty well methinks.

I'm a real big fan of your truck drivers. Can't really vouch for the size of those tires, I'm having trouble getting past the 38's Cool render though!!

I think you would be in hog heaven to see a 36 wheel trailer combination that often rolls through Texas headed for the coast, not counting the rig. I seen many in Houston and got the hell out of their way.once I was in rainy and foggy conditions and suddenly the traffic went to the right. well it was one of the monster trailers hauling the biggest bulldozer I had seen with a 16 feet (at least) wide blade and with no escort.the tracks extended past both sides of the trailer.I just had time to move over or I would have lost my head exceptional modeling Dale
