Description

So we thought we were being smart by waiting until Sunday evening to go up the Empire State Building and thus avoiding the lines. And from that standpoint it worked. However, since we didn't go up until 9PM or so it made for a bit of difficulty in photographing things from atop the building. Oops - LOL. So I did my best with some night shots by bracing the camera on the rails. Some worked out pretty well and others didn't, but luckily this one came out pretty good. FYI, it's really cold and windy up there in late October too. haha. John

Great work without a tripod, John! I know how hard that is and never managed to make it look good. This looks very good!

Nice nightime city scape- time to get a tripod though to make your life easier! ;) Good shot for what you had to work with, a bit longer of an exposure (if you have the option) would bring out a little more detail in the buildings, but if its windy and your just bracing it on the rail, that might be difficult.

I MISS THE CITY SO MUCH. I WORKED IN THE CHRYSLER BUILDING FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. IT ALSO HAS GREAT VIEWS FROM THE TOP FLOORS. THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING BEING ONE OF THEM. HOW MANY OTHER PICTURES DO YOU HAVE?
