Description

Hi everyone, I thought some may have a smile when seeing this washing machine. I remember my Mother telling us boys....do not get your hand near the rollers.....a minute later she had to rescue my hand from them. Glad we are not young forever. Hope all are enjoying the weekend. -GB-

Yeah ! I Remember very well, with sharp vivid clarity! I last used mine about 4 days ago, And am up now waiting fr dawn so i can use it again. Mines outside and if I dont get my automatic fixed ,then I'll be bringing it in the house for the winter. I've gotta say those automatics cant hold a candle to these when it comes to clean clothes. Laundry is one of my favorite chores when its outside, where I can feel the warm sun, hear the birds sing songs of praise while feeling My creator walk about me with the breeze all round' my gardens. I do my best thinking there Or Shall I say my best Listening.:-) Thanks for reminding me of my treasures.

My grandmother had one of these for the longest time..The part I find most interesting, is they still work..unlike the crap they sell today, that maybe lasts 5 years at best

So interesting! I don't recall one of these, but we had a pre-electric mangle circa 1880 which we used when I was a child.

Yes, my mother had a similar washer and invariably I would pinch my fingertips trying to help. This is the first time I've seen one since then. A real nostalgia trigger.

Remember these well. We still have the square zinc colored Maytag tub that was part of my Mother's washer. She turned it into a mini flower garden.

My Gram had one in her basement. My sister didn't listen to the warnings and got her arm up to the shoulder in the rollers. I bet she remembers it still! : )

I remember well! Had one just like it and my mom still preferred that to the 'new fangled' one for many years. Nice memory and shot George!

We had one in the basement when I was a kid, but it was just being stored. They don't call that thing on top a "mangle" for nothing!

Great shot. I don't remember them because my mother did our washings by hand, before we got a machine!

Okay I will be honest. I thought it looked more like a toilet than a washing machine lol Sowy, it must have been before my time. Never saw such a washing machine before. Excellent photo and very interesting too. Thanks for sharing.
