Description

Honorable Mention in the 2008 Carnival of evil contest. Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch, The Garden of Earthly Delights A heartwarming thanks to everyone who deemed my image worthy of a vote, with so many fantastic images this is a huge complement. Especially considering I had to to crop out about 40% of the image and kill the resolution to meet the contest requirements. (My own fault for being so ambitious.) Original render size was 3600x2400 I'll also take suggestions for a better Latin translation of tree of knowledge. Here it is for the first time, the complete image as I envisioned it, and here's the original text that accompanied the image. Come one come all to the carnival of evil! See the eighth wonder of the world. Eruditio nemorosus The modern tree of knowledge. Use this wondrous new discovery to replace books, school, even meaningful conversation. It’s not hard you already have it in your home. Just turn on the T.V. and turn off your mind. It will do all the thinking for you, just do as it says and you will be rewarded with a lifetime of mediocrity and a vague sense of dissatisfaction, without ever having to wonder why. Bring the kids, and start them early. Join the mindless masses, in a state of thoughtless empty bliss. Free thought is overrated anyway. It just gets in the way of happiness. Created in photoshop, poser and Vue. The image took over 2 weeks to create and is a composite of multiple renders.

The amount of figures in this scene is staggering and the bizzare concept threw me at first, but now I get the link to the contest ! Well done on your Honorable Mention and a very kool Vue ! ~Cheers~

Oh, yes, this is so much better full size.... (that didn't come out right), I meant that full size image is so much more impressive than resize version. I see the rats clearly and the jester, etc. You have so much patience! Outstanding work!!!

Your scene is brilliant commentary - too bad you didn't include a few video game controllers for good measure LOL! Great job, very thought provoking as usual. Very unsettling for its truth!

Awesome work you did here!!! Great Composition, there is a lot of movement in this scenic shot... The lightning is really good, and the huge amount of mindless corpses is quite a thing to die for...
