Description
The Smolen-Gulf Bridge is a covered bridge which carries State Road (Ashtabula County Road 25) across the Ashtabula River and the Plymouth and Ashtabula Township line in northern Ashtabula County, Ohio. At 613 feet (182.9 meters), it is the longest covered bridge in the United States. It is the fourth longest covered bridge in the world.
The county's 17th publicly accessible covered bridge cost approximately $7.78 million to build, and features walkways along both sides. It is constructed of four 152 feet (46 m) sections that rest on concrete abutments and three concrete piers, and rises more than 93 feet (28 m) over the river, carrying two lanes of legal-weight traffic.
Also a convenient cover when rain drops began.

This is beautiful, and from what I read I am guessing its a new bridge, would love to know where in Ohio, so I can go visit. Have a great day!

Interesting design.

Love the sky and great colors. Personally, I would brighten the scene a tad in levels and then mask the sky back to its original state IMHO. I need to work more with HDR!

Very cool. This one is rated 5+.

The sky exhibits the mood while the modern roadway sets this antique looking structure smack in the 21st century! The double yellow lines do lend well with the fall foliage!

That's a pretty impressive bridge! Thanks for the view and the information.

a dramatic sky that almost steals the show. Great view as the eye travels through this covered bridge and out the other side into the painted trees.
