Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

Great shot. I have been on the other side of the Island (Oahu) and there are not many tourists, and it is dry and windy with some awesome surf!

Stellar POV and mood in this capture of the house, which looks like a veritable firetrap, Shark. For sure, that structure has seen much better days during its long existence.

MrsRatbag...It was turned into an historical site and protected. It goes back about 600 years ago when the fishing village was last active. More than likely it was abandon because of no water and the dry hot weather. It is a great area to collect salt. I have fished off the shores of this area and always saw this landmark. Only till now after all these years that I left my foot prints here. Thanks for asking. Aloha

Coming from a fishing village on the Gulf, I can only wonder at the many bugs that hide in that thatch. :-) It's sure a big fisherman's house and seems very well made. Fantastic!

Cool shot Errol. I love anything with a little bit of history tagged onto it. Hot, dry and no drinking water would be reason enough for me to move on too :) Excellent capture on your part. Bill

You have caught a very interesting piece of history. Here in Spain there are abandoned villages in the mountains and it's like walking into another world. Super photo.
