Description
Wow, It's been quite a while since I've been able to post anything!
This is a project I've been working on for my Art History final. It's a scale model of the Tempietto by Donato D'Angelo Bramante (1444-1514).
This is my first attempt at creating an architectural model, so it's still a WIP as I'm not quite happy with some parts of the model - and I especially need to give more attention to the textures.
Once I'm completly happy with it, I'll try to create a complete scene for it. But until then, I'd love to hear what you all think.
Everything created from scratch by me using 3D Studio MAX.

The modeling looks pretty good to me. As far as detail it looks like you've included everything except the really small details. Although it's hard to tell at this scale. Speaking of scale...The door in the front looks really narrow. This is a really good first stab at architecture. I almost went with a circular plan classical structure for one of my renderings a while back, but got too intimidated. You seem to have pulled it off quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed scene. Nice work!

A VERY impressive work you have chosen.. and impressively applied. I don't know how strictly you are set to the exact detailing. but there are parts that need to keep you bussy for excess detailing that you can't simply overcome with bumps. Like the tiles at the dome, and the stoes taking you inside. I don't know if you have the plans for it in hand... or if you are working merely from a photograph, but I THINK the supports for the armband are either too much, or too short.. just doesn't look right, might also be from the proportions of the banners I don't know(I am talking ONLY from memory, so please don't take my nonsence seriouse if I am wrong)But anyhow, it is the best modeling of the Tempiet'to that I have seen til now. GREAT work!

The model is superb!! The texturing could use a little more work....

Here's a grainy picture for you: http://www.saed.kent.edu/SAED/History/Renaissance/Italy/Bramante/tempietto.jpg You seem to have some issues on the upper portion. I know when I modeled this, I had a difficult time finding anything--and never did find anything good--about the upper portion. It looks pretty good overall though. Good luck!

Well =DBZ=, as always you amaze me with your attention to detail. Good to see you post again. This is a very impressive model. Because I've never seen the actual place, I can't comment on how accurate it is, but I can say that it is a damn good model and if u do decide to take it further and give it an envrionment, then I'd say it definately has potential to be a near-photo real image. Talk to you soon.
