Description

Please, watch it full size. The details pop up. Some days ago I posted "Morning Flight", link below. This new image, "Deep", uses basically that same set with a different camera position. I thought it would be fun to see the same scene through a different angle. I kept exactly the same lighting, atmosphere, trees, terrain, water. The camera is now closer to the ground, more or less below where the flying girl was. I changed the ground cover material - before, I had procedural grass, which was fine for that distance, but I couldn't get away with it now, so close to the camera. So, I gave it normal grass now and several other details, like some twigs and a few other plants. Twigs and plants are almost invisible but if they weren't there, you'd notice their absence. The flying girl is still present. On purpose, I didn't want to make her too obvious. She's not the main character, the forest is. thumb_1769494.jpg Thanks for watching!

What an incredible image. One of the best forest scene ever (in Clouseau's opinion). Excellent.

The ground cover is absolutely amazing, Artur. my only crit would be the flying girl, she's either floating or resting on the grouns, but the lack of shadows make it difficult to understand. Maybe with a more obvious pose...

interesting. the scale of the pool and the trees seems different than in the other image. i wouldn't have expected the camera angle to make such a big difference. the light looks especially beautiful on the ground to the left. before reading your text, i thought the "flying" girl was walking on that path near the shore. to me the connection between the images is subtle but clear. she doesn't look suspended at all, but knowing she is, she looks as if she's floating. in general, her actions seem more passive to me, which gives this image a more settled and peaceful mood. you were quite successful at changing the main actor from the girl to the forest. i'm a sucker for the light filtered through the leaves and rays made by mist. i feel like i should be criticizing them, since you use them so frequently. i know with my mind that godrays are almost as ubiquitous and potentially trite as lens flares and flaming pear water. but i just love that lighting technique, and if you used it less, i'd miss it. i'm not saying it very well, but as someone who reacts pretty negatively to any visual technique that gets overused, i'm impressed at how much i always love how you light misty forests. if you upgrade, i can't wait to see what you do with Vue 7!

Perfect forest scene, absolutely wonderful. The lighting is amazing. It looks so real, that the floating girl is a bit disturbing, but this is up to the mind of the creator :)
