Ello Ello! The names Alice, I am from Santa Cruz Ca. but at the moment I live in San Jose Ca. with my husband and his family. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and doing many other forms of art as well. Drawing has always been my favorite past time and most likely always will be. I am also into tattoos, piercings, and I am quite interested in most forms of body modification. I did my first tattoo at the age of 16. It was a tribal style half sleeve done with a ghetto tattoo gun( made out of a CD player motor, a metal pen, and a guitar string as a needle ) on an ex-boyfriend. Now Im nearly 21(Jan 20th) and Im married to a wonderful man, I have a pro gun but I cant get up the nerve to tattoo anyone but myself. My husband finally talked me into doing one on him but its was like pulling teeth, and I think I was more nerves than he was. I am putting my art out here to feel better about my skill and to try and get myself to feel that I made the right choice to become a tattoo artist. I hope to take some art classes some time soon so I can better my skill and help to grasp the things I can not do on my own. I really appreciate everyones kind comments and I hope to make more friends in the art community.
Thats me in the freezer and the gorgeous red head next to me is my best friend Tracey.

haha. Yeah i do illustration as well and when i scan it it gets gritty as well. Usually peeps use the grit as a template and then do graphic art overtop of it. Either painting or even re-drawing it on the computer. Even with crayola, you can make a master piece. You just need to know how they are used effectively and then execute that. cavemen didnt even have crayola, yet they made markings on the walls that fassioned in a way that one could look at it on their wall with an artistic eye. You did a good job on this piece.

again, your pen/pencil work shows real sensitivity: The detailing on the wings & hair shows real attention to the life within them (very nice lights in the hair). Also, you're intuitive in how you let your drawings fill your spaces, allowing the wings here to sweep into the lower portion of your drawing and take it over. (I really like that.) It makes some of your pictures complete little universes. If you drew this with a cheap Bic & crayola pencils, you obviously can make the simplest media sing. Re. the grit: If you don't want its effect, there are a few superb free programs on the market: The Gimp & Graphic Converter come to mind, though there are others. Graphic Converter is mainly for adjustments (of which it has many, believe me), but The Gimp is complete, several artists use it, it has numerous Photoshop-like features, it's totally free and it's available for Mac & Windows. (I mention these only if you don't know them...) A sensitive work as always. You have a genuine & natural talent...
