Description

Well we made it back to the main trail and to oour right we see another example of the propensity of the moss to litereally climb up the tree. The dappled sunlight shines on the path as we walk, warming us just a bit and at the same time, it sends a shiver of pleasure as it hits our skin. The roaring sound is getting louder as we head up the main trail and it is to our right side. As we listen, we hear the sounds of children laughing as they walk with their parents. The children are, as we know, very fascinated by the sights and sounds of the forest, if anybody will consistantly be able to see the fae, it is them and those who have the child still inside. The path or trail that we are on, slopes slightly up but not that much that we would get tired easily nor will we raise a sweat. It's a very gentle rise and we see that it does crest about twenty yards ahead. The greens of this forest are varied, from very dark to almost a spring green adn every hue and tint in between. We see a couple butterflies flitting about, their yellow and black wings show us that they are the tiger swallowtail variety. Above us, we hear the raucous call of a Stellar Jay calling to his mate. Almost a disparity, a beautiful bird, dark blue and black with a sound that, well, not so beautiful. I guess it's a trade-off - Beauty for the eyes or beauty for the ears.... My thanks to all of you who have stayed on this hike and have commented along the way, as well as those you have chosen some spots as your favorites. I really appreciate that! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! Thanks to all of you Mike

Love the filtering light and the moss as well... what a wonderful trail you have guided us along Mike. You've picked up a lot of hikers along the way and have captivated each with your own brand of magic. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to the next. Seth

I agree with Dennis! This is such a beauty Mike. I would be hard pressed to choose which stop along the way I like best. They are all so wonderful and serene scenes! This one has, as you say such different shades of green in it. I especially love the sunlight in the lower left too! Lea
