To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.

This scene is played out often, between grandmother and granddaughter. I recall how my mom would on some unmarked and often unexpected occasion take her three granddaughters aside (in secret confidence it seemed) and open up to them the treasure trove of her heart, and show them all those specially kept tokens from her past that she had kept locked and tucked away, and held on to for all the many long years of her life. Then to each granddaughter she would pass along an item, the story that went with it, and her love.
