Description

This was an intent to recreate the sfumato technique created by great Lionardo; main figure was rendered in cinema 4D; background is a photo. But the most difficult part was her hair; had to behave like a wild hairstylist on this.

this made me look up both sfumato and chiaroscuro. in terms of technique, i think you've succeeded in making a form that is sometimes defined by soft shadow, and lit areas that seem to glow gently. i think the shadow and gradation is less soft than Leonardo's creations, and the shading should be flatter, less dramatic and subtle overall for accuracy, but that's not your style. the hair especially seems to catch the light, and i like the wild look with the soft shading. the integration of CG and photo is solid, and i think the light in the photo fits the what you wanted to accomplish. overall, a very strong piece.
