This is the first in a series of renders I've done in hommage to the most enduring and memorable styles of science fiction...done with a touch of respectful humor. Genre: Golden Age Hero: Usually named "Skip" or "Buck" or "Flash" often a Captain or Commander. Likes: Ray Guns, Jet Packs, Rocket ships, Mad Scientists' daughters, America and freedom. Dislikes: Communists, Nazis, and martians that act suspiciously like communists or nazis...and mad scientists. This is a bit of an amalgam of the Wartime serial and post-war paranoia sci-fi genres. Someone inevitably was going to try to take over the world, and just one man could stop them! All he needed was to shoot straight, and have a good right hook, and freedom would be safe again. However, he could never save his friend from being eaten by an alien monster that looked a heck of a lot like a dinosaur.
