Description

Whoa, it's been a while. I keep making stuff but barely play with it. I've been working hard at getting this T-rex to look like it is real but it can be very challenging to guess what it may have looked like. Very little postwork here, Rendered is Poser 6. Some extra shadows added here and there, the harness, and face.

A splendiferious image, and very pleasing to the eye. I bet he wouldn't be so eager to get to Grandma's house if he knew that Dinosuar soup was on the menu LOL, You know a Rex thigh could feed an entire family of four for a week, and a batch of rex soup, well that would last you months. He looks very real to me and I am licking my lips in anticipation yummmeee:)

Beautiful amalgamation. Nice colors and sharp and as realistic as can be. As you say, it's difficult since we weren't there. :) But, this is a beaut.

So you're doing Rex? This isn't DR's? Hey, the more the merrier. I've seen a fair bit of variation in Rex imaginings. Tamiya's 90's model kit had a particularly intriguing head. Are you going with the Rex as "hunter" or Rex as "carrion eater" theory. If a hunter, I always though something akin to bold tiger stripes was an imaginative approach. Speaking of stripes, ever consider doing a texture set of variations for your Parasaurolphus?

Yep, This guy is pretty well rigged. Lots of automated hand and feet grasping, ez pose tongue, tail, and neck. He's a whole figure probably going up at DNA. I was thinking of the tigery stripes too but was thinking of calling that the male. Like when you see ducks and peacocks, the male is the flashy one. I was trying to stay away from green for the base texture and trying to make the default as realistic and generic as it could be. Personally I think Rex was an opportunist. Evidence leans toward warm blooded because of their scans of a 4 chambered heart vs a reptiles 3 chambers. Meaning it had to eat constantly.
