Description
For my good friend Seth - a man who both loves and respects the dark side - as I do. Seth unflinchingly explores the dark depths of human existence and in the process he bares his soul for all of us to see. For Seth understands that to know the light one must be able to fearlessly step into the dark. Blessed be my beloved friend, you are a great man.
Seth I've been waiting a long time to do this piece for you and with CS4 finally in my hands I now have the tools and perhaps just enough skill to take the plunge and do it. The poem just flowed from the composition as I created it. I hope you like it.
When smoke and lightning choke the air
Face your fears if you dare
Upon this ground you must tread
Though your heart be full of dread
If you want to learn to fly
Then you must be there to die
For if you cannot face your fears
You will live a life of tears
Stone glade in oaken wood,
The earth awaits you as it should.
Put metal sword in warrior's hand
Hear the wind -- take your stand

Wow, wow, wow! This is wonderful work, Roxy. The fear on her face is gut-wrenching, and that pose is perfect! The background and post-work are really outstanding as well. Quality does not come from tools, but from the hand that wields them. Your poem is also powerful, and perfectly complements the image. This image is so powerful it actually gave me flashbacks.
