Description

Another photo from Belle Isle. Off in the distance, you can see a few buildings and graves from Hollywood Cemetary. THAT is a great spot for photos. Haven't visited the cemetary since I got my camera...but I plan on it. On a personal note: Belle Isle (to me) is the only place in my city where we (we modern-day hippies...my friends and I) can be free. There is a big rock where everyone gathers in particular...named "Dead Rock" for the Grateful Dead Skull the original hippies of Richmond keep trying to paint. Every once in a while, the city will come along, and paint over it...calling it "grafiti" but they fail to see it as a landmark. WITHOUT FAIL, everytime the city paints over the dead skull....it appears again. Wether it be a day, week, or year...My only hope is that the hippies that paint it over and over, never give up...and pass their gift on to their kin...keeping Dead Rock alive. The next time it appears, I'll get a shot of it to share. Belle Isle is my second home in the summer....bonfires on the rocks, drums, guitars. It's nice. As with anywhere, however, there are a few negative points....all of the underage kids coming down there to drink, cause police to patrol the area....wouldn't be so bad if the police didn't harass everyone trying to relax....but now I'm rambling. Enjoy.
