Description

We move a little closer to the edge of the cliff to get a better view of the falls. It is breath-taking and beautiful. The foot hits a loose rock and sends it tumbling over the edge, peering down, we see that it bounces on the side of the cliff and then falls into the water about 3 seconds later. I think we better move back from the edge. While the ground is firm, just don't want to take any chances here. As we gaze out across the valley, we notice that the roar of the falls is louder and the breeze is carrying some of the mist to us. It's very refreshing and you can actually smell the freshness of the water. There's not too many insects up here, they're all down near the water, getting food or getting eaten, depending on where they are at on the food chain. We hear the rustle of leaves above us and as we look up we see the shadow of something that just flew by. I don't know if it was a bird or a winged - pixie, I just know that it was fast as it flew out of sight. There seems to be a path that leads over the edge of the cliff, we might look at that later. Right now, let's just enjoy the beautiful view we've been afforded. Thank you to all who commented on the last image and especially those who made it their favorite. Were you braced against that tree to the right when you snapped this shot? Hope you were holding on to it!! What a great shot this one is, too. I can feel that little bit of mist rising from the falls, you betcha!!
