Description

this will be definitely my last entry. i suppose it's a fitting choice (referencing it's title) visually presented as a crossroads....where we choose one path or another. one usually seemingly clearer. bringing to mind the the poem "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came" by Robert Browning. a deep and abstract poem dealing with life and death and choice and committment and truth. spititual in nature....as are basically all my favorite poems. often dark but still beautiful. thank you for viewing my dabblings and for all the kind words. my intent with some of them was to present abstract ideas in visual format. dealing with inner complexies and spiritual symbolisms. how successful i cannot say. i can only see them as intended....tho i did not present them as such, but it's fine if you see them merely as graphic art dabblings. i will close with a favorite poem---tho it is truly dark in nature.....the phrasing is beautiful. Lorine Neidecker (1903-1970) What horror to awake at night and in the dimness see the light. Time is white mosquitoes bite I've spent my life on nothing. The thought that stings. How are you, Nothing, sitting around with Something's wife. Buzz and burn is all I learn I've spend my life on nothing. I've pillowed and padded, pale and puffing lifting household stuffing-- carpets, dishes benches, fishes I've spent my life in nothing. === i hope you all will not have spent your life in nothing. === ================= and my final words from the poem of my life....being the slayer of "The Albatross"....it's speaks my life. ================= The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge The many men, so beautiful! And they all dead did lie: And a thousand thousand slimy things Lived on; and so did I. I looked upon the rotting sea, And drew my eyes away; I looked upon the rotting deck, And there the dead men lay. I looked to heaven, and tried to pray; But or ever a prayer had gusht, A wicked whisper came, and made My heart as dry as dust. I closed my lids, and kept them close, And the balls like pulses beat; For the sky and the sea, and the sea and the sky Lay like a load on my weary eye, And the dead were at my feet. ================= O Wedding-Guest! this soul hath been Alone on a wide wide sea: So lonely 'twas, that God himself Scarce seemed there to be. O sweeter than the marriage-feast, 'Tis sweeter far to me, To walk together to the kirk With a goodly company!-- To walk together to the kirk, And all together pray, While each to his great Father bends, Old men, and babes, and loving friends And youths and maidens gay! Farewell, farewell! but this I tell To thee, thou Wedding-Guest! He prayeth well, who loveth well Both man and bird and beast. He prayeth best, who loveth best All things both great and small; For the dear God who loveth us, He made and loveth all. The Mariner, whose eye is bright, Whose beard with age is hoar, Is gone: and now the Wedding-Guest Turned from the bridegroom's door. He went like one that hath been stunned, And is of sense forlorn: A sadder and a wiser man, He rose the morrow morn. *~~~peace to you all~~~* a small apology. i should have made this one to be without comments and have changed that. since it is my final posting and shows myself----it behooves there be no comments. thank you for your kindnesses.
