Description

Just back after a week in the lake district, taking mainly autumn landscapes. I was on the shore of lake Derwent looking down the valley into the light. I was surprised when this energetic dog bounded into view waiting for it's owner to arrive with his favourite stick. The exposure was not spot on, as usual "auto" settings not good for backlit images snapped quickly. I adjusted settings to try an improved shot but missed the moment, so here is the first attempt. I loved the anticipation in his pose.

WOW! Kevin, this is a superb composition my friend, I love everything about this image, a powerfully dramatic shot, yet a tender moment between man and he's best friend.
