Pushin and Pullin
That's how I feel
These days
Pushed from one side
Pulled from another
Like taffy stretched
Into a long elastic
Piece of myself
It's hard to separate
The meaningful
From the meaningless
The smart
From the stupid
The wise
From the wacky
All I can do
Is listen to all
These words
Translate them
Into a language
I can understand
Decipher and use
Then finally
All this pushin
And pullin will stop
And I can go on
Put myself back together
Be whole
And just get on with it.

Unions call that "whipsawing", moving jobs between factories before "outsourcing" them.

I find that it's always hard to seperate those things. Maybe it's not just me, things seem to become more and more complex. Too many choices, most of them bad, and no guidance that you really wish to follow. Nice job of putting it into words!

Oh! have I been there, for the last three years I have been like this, ever since I finished(got finished) from work. I am still trying to come to terms with it, and there is plenty of sh1t still around trying to sort out money and the tax man. I can relate to these words very much so. Excellent prose Marylin, really hits a spot with me. Bravo!!!!!
