More custom tombstones!
Yes, I am an absolute and certified NUT for Halloween! It's my favorite holiday! (just in the event you were wondering Johnny ;-) )
And I'm SOOOOOO glad someone caught the reference for the "Pay Here" tombstone! (thank you Mina!)
I realize that two of these you've already seen, and another was in my first graveyard image, just this time you get the chance to actually READ what's on it....after several attempts *insert wry smirk here*
The tombstones themselves are Styrofoam and spray painted, all lettering (and touch up work) was done by hand by myself. Through the years of having them in storage they've endured a little damage -- hence the retouches and plenitude of florist moss (hey, it adds just a creepy enough effect and I was too lazy to harvest some myself last time we were at our condo, so Michael's brand moss did the trick....with a little help).
It's really amazing what you can do with a few sponges, brushes and lots of watered down tempera paint!
The "Vacant" tombstone was one of my personal faves and drew a lot of attention.
"When I was Here..." was inspired by a series of actual historical epitaphs from one of my favorite sites called City of the Silent.
I have a deep and personal love of old cemeteries and graveyards. And, while I will rarely, if ever, take pictures in them, I treat them with the respect and reverence that I feel they genuinely deserve.
...Not at all like our little cemetery. Don't worry, more shots to come! And, yes, you WILL see at least one of me in *shudder* costume and our other decorations, but our grave secrets have to be shown first!

Excellent collage of the tombstones, love (and I adore the little ghost filler image). Even with all my store bought tombstones, I have to say that your custom ones really made the graveyard scene that night! I love the Vacant one, but the Pay Here remains my favorite after all the work you put into that (I supplied the hand, btw! So if my art suffers, you'll know why DUCKS) Can't wait to see what other scenes you captured from our display!

My personal favorite is side by side stones with an arrow pointing to the adjacent one saying "I'm With Stupid" :o) ....'nother good one is "Excuse My Dust" LOL And you're very welcome for the "Pay Here" reference heehee My favorite holiday too and I'm so lovin' your pix here Stacey !!!!....awesome !
