Description

This is a collage of my father when he was in the Vietnam War. I had posted this before but I had removed it. I thought it as fitting to reupload today :-) Thanks for looking.

Sure brings back some memories for me. I was in from 66-68 but didn't go over seas. I was part of a chopper pilots school here in the states. Most of my friends went over. The troops did thier job. 40 years ago. Just buried my friends dad a couple of years ago and he was in the Bataan Death March in ww2. Most of them guys died. All I can say get our troop home. Thank a Vet.

As a former wife of a Marine who served in Vietnam, a sister of an Air Force Corp Man who served in Nam, and a friend to many who served and put their lives in front of their own for us, I wish your Dad a Sincere Welcome Home! Thank you for posting this and I hope you will leave these memories online for a long time. Thanks to all our Armed Forces for the protection they provide everyday. Hugs, Singanprayisme

I would like to say thanks for your fathers service to our nation. And to your family for the sacrficies I am sure it had to make while he served. And to those who've wished veterans well today, thank you. This vet appreciates it.

Thanks for adding this to your Gallery. Among the things that we should not, the Viet Nam war was one of those. My husband was there twice and thankfully was came home. My very dear friend, Billy, is one of thousands of names etched on "The Wall." If you've never seen it and you can get to the real wall in Washington, please go and thank those men and women for giving their lives. If you are not near the Wall in Washington, perhaps the traveling wall will come by your area sometime. Please check it out. They treat it with reverence and as if it were the "wall" it's self. When it came to our town, they had it at the local park, the largest one we have. People came from all over the area to see it, and I was amazed at how quiet several hundred people could be. The wall was here for three days and during the night it was lit so that if you wanted to come in the middle of the night to see, it was lit so that was possible. There was also honor guard soldiers there that amazed me as to how still they could stand for such long periods of time. It was an awesome sight, to say the very least. Tell your Father, "thank you." Thank you all for your comments :-) I have been fortunate enough to see the wall in Washington. My father pointed out all of his friends names to me. He was the only one to come home out of a group of eight :-( The wall was an amazing thing to see.
