Some days I wish we had a squirrel in our yard - instead of a few hundred of them (or so it seems). They can wreck havoc on the garden! Oddly, really seem to like tomatoes - at least the seeds. Will take enough bites at one to get at the seeds and then chunk the rest. Some - few - have paid for that folly. May they rest in peace. But after they started laughing at and gnawing on the wooden owl put out to ward them off - more direct methods of persuasion were needed. We did put corn feeder first and that helped entice many away - but some just had to learn the hard way. After a few days such measure were no longer needed as the message got out and squirrel and man (and his garden) co-existed once again in harmony. Isn't communing with nature fun! :O)

Isn't he cute. I love watching squirrels. Some places they are known as tree rats and disliked for the damage they do.

Beautiful!! Excellent capture. I love squirrels. We do not have many here, so our gardens are safe. We do enjoy seeing them in the mountains, though. ;c)

This is just so sweet! If you keep feeding him, (or her) they will continue to come back. This is a wonderful capture Real Joly! We have squirrels everywhere here. Mom has a walnut tree in the yard, so the little stinkers are always out scampering around looking for walnuts and hiding them. Also many times on the ground there are the empty nut shells, with six little holes made by very sharp teeth in their quest to get the nutmeats out of the shell. They provide hours of endless fascination and a lot of laughs. Thanks for sharing this with us. ;) Lea
