Description

Notes of Human Interstellar Society # 7: The Study of Origins Planetary scientists believe that the atmosphere of primordial Earth was similar in composition to the current atmosphere of the planet Oparin. On Earth, in the last centuries of the old era—the 20th century in particular—a number of hypotheses were presented in an attempt to bridge the steps from chemical to biological evolution. Most notably, the Miller-Urey experiment, conducted at the University of Chicago, has shown that under the atmospheric conditions present on Oparin, and with the addition of UV radiation, complex molecules and polymer substances can be created. Oparin, today, bears a passable resemblance to Earth, billions of years ago. Nemaean planetologists have long established that there is enough native organic material on Oparin to start a form of chemical evolution similar to what might ultimately have started on Earth billions of years ago. Like primordial earth, Oparin is swaddled in shallow seas; its skies are continuously shocked by vast electrical storms. By processes kept largely secret, Nemaean scientists have actually begun a slow and steady manipulation of Oparin, creating—on a planetary scale—a vast, complicated replay of the ancient Miller-Urey experiment, and those that followed. Though biological life does not exist on Oparin (as yet) the planet remains of singular interest to planetologists of both Nemaean and Centralist inclination as its prebiotic conditions undoubtedly give insights into Ancestral Earth's own unwritten, though very real pre-biological history. (From: The Study of Origins by Michael Archer/Olympus Univerity Press/Mars) **** Because of yesterday's post, I couldn't resist the urge to dip back into the Nemaean universe. As always, thank you for viewing, reading, and commenting...and I hope that everyone's having a great week.

Stunning space scene, very colourful and adventuresome made realistic by the except of history and scientific study. Oparin bears a very striking resemblance to the large Saturian moon Titan. Opaque orange clouds of methane below a blue haze of light scattered by organic molecules created in the upper atmosphere by UV radiation from the Sun.
