Description

It was Misa who had first found the entrance to the bn'kar. She had been out at the edges of the clan's territory picking roots for the Elders when she came across an overgrown crack in the earth. Along the edges of it were pieces of ruined and rusty metal and smooth white stone. She was sure this was a bn'kar... those hidden places from the Fall, where secret wonders were kept. Misa though was young and kept her head full of stories of the Fall, so most of the elders regarded her as an undisciplined daydreamer. They wouldn't listen to her... unless she had proof. Quickly she finished her gatherings and sped back to the clan huts where she sought out her trusted friends, Toma and Lissa. The siblings were Misa's childmates and even since coming of age they were as close as ever. They would believe her. They would help get proof of what they found. Early the next morning they quietly gathered the supplies they would need and set off towards the bn'kar. Toma carried a Fallen Weapon that had been his father's and his father's before him. Such a treasure he would have left in the safety of the huts but the young warrior had always been afraid of the tales of the bn'kars and the terrors they could hide. His sister was more confident and relied on her blades. Misa led them though the forest to the hole she had found. Throwing a rope down into the darkness, Misa held tightly onto the torch as she slid down into the hole. Finally she entered an open space and yelped in surprise as she was face to face with a huge figure. It was a Guardian from the Fall! The metal giant stood in it's frame, dirty and motionless. Misa lowered herself past fearful that it would suddenly come to life and kill the intruders. No attack came and Misa waited for the others to join her. Her torchlight explored the chamber, wet and overgrown from the plants above, but still wondrous. Metal was everywhere and strange symbols adorned the walls. Hallways curved off into darkness. Toma was down now and gripped his weapon apprehensively while Lissa brazenly paused midway on the rope to regard the features of the Guardian. The trio could almost hear the pounding of each other's hearts in the excitement of it. Slowly, with cautious steps they moved deeper into the secret halls of the bn'kar....
