* Surtr was the first being that existed. While training with the flame-sword Surtalogi, the fire fell through Niflheim's glaciers, melted them and created the primal Rime-Giant Ymir and the cow Audhumla. Surtr was the ruler and guardian of the fire-world Muspellheim and the Fire-Giants. At the time of Ragnarok, Surtr will leave Muspellheim and lead an army of fire beings to the asgardian battlefield. The rainbow bridge Bifrost will break, fire will be brought to all nine worlds and gods, men and animals will burn to ashes. Surtur from the south wielding fire The gods' swords shine in the darkness, like stars in the night Mountains collapse into rubble And fiends shall fall Man walks the road to ruin as the sky splits in two ** I have used my artistic freedom in the characterization of Surtur. I hope the more "dogmatic" amongst us will not hate me for that. For me, Surtur is more like a demon with unearthly powers, ruler of the flames, than a Fire-giant as described by historians. It is a being like a wild fire itself..hungry and irrepressible, wild and impetuous. *** This is going to be my last image in a while, my friends. I have a lot to do and I need to find my muse for creating better images. I am also a bit dissapointed once again about how this whole community works and is based on. Judging from what I see getting promoted and praised and pushed up to high ranks, making my own works look very average, I need to rethink my POV about successful art.
