Hanging from each branch
a bauble
Inside each -
a new dream
warmed by Autumn sun
and fed by winter rain
they grow strong
one for each long night.
Something wrong
here.
Echoes of old dreams
distorted by lies
events and places
contained and sealed
ready to burst
bitter tears
Hide knives and scissors
Sharp needles, tainted talons
Deceivers all
That gaudy shell
The public face
I do not sleep
I know you
too well.
