Description
I used the setting recommended by Chipp (Thanks Chipp!) and made the scene even darker and more gloomy. I also added some more stuff in the background (free computer console from Team Dystopia). Pretty heavy scene with all the stuff - running less than 50% resources, but Vue 7 was very stable.
Here are the final setting:
Radiosity atmosphere, 500,000 photons
Max gathering radius 1 meter
Radiosity gain = 0
Sky dome gain = 1.0
Quality +1 - also bumped up the AA settings
Render time 2 hr 57 minutes.

I like this one better too. I particularly like the robot on the left. Although it's posed much less dramatically, it has a stronger impact on me, sort of a touching gloominess. And the red glow on its top parts is a wonderful touch. I wish this section would be an image by itself.

Didn't see the original but I gotta say the despair of the body language of these poor guys is just pungent. Dark gloomy and full of poignant sadness, it is hard to believe one could feel sorry for machines but you make this happen.
