Description

Yes, you can bloody dance in the arena in a wheelchair. Stealth-snap taken of me at the Baltimore American Indian Center powwow in 2007 by by devious sneaky underhanded and downright evil husband while I was busy dancing and trying to avoid junior dancers who loved being able to jump my footplate! My chair, "The Tank", has regalia as well. When I started dancing in the Tank at powwow and was designing my regalia, I thought back to how plains Indians would decorate their horses. It seemed "right" that the Tank should be similarly decorated. The Tank's regalia, as my clothes do, tells a part of my story. Upload will make sense when I upload an image from this year's GMU Veteran's Powwow :P

I used to go to many powwows around here but I never saw a wheelchair dance. Wonderful view of the watchers.

Depends on if you went to a competition or social, maybe ... For some reason, they haven't made wheelchair northern traditional an applicable category :)
