this reminds me of Uncle Fester with the light bulb in the Mouth - from the Adams Family.... somehow, I think it was in your mind too when you made it.

Very cool. Just when I thought it was a mirror image, I noticed different figures on the sides of "Uncle Fester". Nice use of negetive space.

I'm not sure that your work is always open for interpretation, but since so many have already "Guessed" at the meaning, I will venture mine. I see Big Brother and 1984 here along with some phallic symbolism... as if man were using his penis as a weapon, mostly verbally. But then I always seem to see things in a different way than many. Another great image Mandi.... seth

Awesome idea and - as always - beautiful composition. I'm getting something of a "1984" feel from it as well, but there's plenty of room for interpretation.

Wow...this is a stunning, complex work. When I first saw it, I was reminded of a number of different things at once. I love the visual complexity of this, the sense of color and symmetry. Great stuff. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I do get the sense of religious symbolism here--the vague reference to the Cross-shape is literally central to this image...and it's intriguing that references to male and female symbolism exist so strongly here...at least that's how I see it.

Your compositions always push it - well done. And I too sense a 1984 vibe.

yes, a very complex, multi-dimensional vision, I agree with tim, your compositions always push it, and with chipka that this could have a reference to the cross...but, as in all your work, the possibles weave into a kind of visual forest where multiplicity is as important as the individual image. I do see old soldier figures, and some old number/date-writing as if we're looking at old documents. And the eyes & faces meld into new creatures, something you do with great ease. A vigilant piece, peering at us, prodding, challenging, making your viewer look inside; and yet there's an equanimity that's restful. And a small point: You place your name well, and the surrounding muddy/rusty-brown is quite effective. Always a pleasure to come here. (And thanks for your wishes...it is healing to view beautiful art even when one is getting better...I'm resting a lot in between...)

Sweet. The earthy rust color really enhances those classic Monday morning faces. Very cannily put together, Mandi!!!

Great composition, Mandi. Love you colour selection. Cool graphic bits and textures, too. Never saw Adams family, if it is related to that. But this is a masterful composition. Fine handwork.

A sobering image. It could be the mood I'm in tonight, but I see vigilance bordering on paranoia. It reminds me of the tower in the Tarot pack. I love the way you wove the soldiers and the eyes and maniachal faces together. The bits of fire and maybe even a cloud forming a prayer in the middle. Great composition and colors. This one really makes a statement. Obviously there are lots of different interpretations here which is always a good thing, I feel. Well done.
