Description

Turning around, we look upstream to see the source of the falls. I am not disappointed in what I see. The way the afternoon sun lights up the area causing even the reflection in the water to glow is wonderful. The large stones going across the stream reminds us of how a lord or duke might have a path created across one of his streams on his large estate, only in thsi case, Mother Nature provided the design. Looking up from there, we see that the creek goes on and just a little to the left, leaving us to wonder just what's up around that bend. Will we meet more fae, or just more humans who are just here to 'see' nature. Looking back down, closer to us, we can hear the singing of the water as it heads to the falls, a liquid concert with the falls providing the bass and the rest of the stream singing tenor and soprano for us, with the birds providing the chorus and counter-point in the song of nature. A flash of movement up stream and we can almost see the fae watching us. They know that we've been given permission to continue on our quest, but they are still wary. As they should be, for humans have been known not to relish or appreciate the gifts they've been given freely in the manner that they should. So we should be careful on how we display our acceptance of the gift we've been given. Looking up, you can almost see the flying and non-flying fae playing in the small rapids maybe on tiny boats or rafts, floating down the creek. Some of the flying fae would be swooping and darting about, playing tag with the insects and other flying fae as well. The mist from the falls cools the back of our necks as we stand, looking at all this beauty. As we look to our left, we see the path that we've trod, to our right, there's a split in the path, one going down-stream but on the other side of the creek and one going upstream. Which way will we go? to go onward and upward or to go back a different way or path... we'll make that decision when we get there. For the time being,, we'll just look around and discover new wonders now. On a different note, the mushrooms that were posted yesterday, I have since learned that they are not the type you wish to handle or eat as it could be just slightly hazardous to your health, which makes me glad that I wore the latex glove when I collected them and disposed of them properly. They were pretty though, weren't they. I've got more pictures of them to show later on. And for those who would like to use some of those pictures for their fae, go ahead, just let your fae know where those mushrooms came from and to please be careful. To all of you who commented on the shroom picture, thanks, and a very big thanks to those who faved it. Have a great Sunday Mike

What a beautiful scene and setting! Now, I know that water is likely ice cold, but I would love to tip my toes into it like a fountain of youth. Your story telling is getting so much more detailed and colourful. Richness beyond El Dorado. Beautiful image, Mike, and thank you for sharing this hike with us.

Here Mike, have a ham and cheese and a pop, good thing I brought along this picnic basket - all this nature stuff makes me hungry. Your starting to look pretty good to. Ever consider letting your hair grow? Never mind, I think I will go look around for some faes - or better still that cute exchange student!
