Description

Line art: supafly (who else?) Colors: yours truly Software used: Ulead PhotoImpact 7 I've always loved this particluar line work by supafly ever since I first saw it on his gallery here; he is such a marvelous talent. Among the many things I am doing, continuing to refine my coloring technique is one of them. I don't have loads of time these days, so, when I finally finished coloring Spidey and MJ, I decided to leave the web-string barren (in line-art gray), and then threw a quick background on the whole image to give it a "finished" look. supafly's pencils are so good, though; it sure deserves a whole lot more than I could ever give it; this is some really great, high quality line work by him, as always. After working with it for a while, it becomes quite amazingly apparent, though, how "well executed" line work can truly make or break any digital comic coloring project. This was actually a scanned-in pencil sketch by supafly, but, the lines were so consistant and smooth; just so "good", that all I had to do to prep it for digital coloring was to tune its' lightness and contrast a tiny bit, and presto, instant "ink-like" line work to fill with colors.. Most impressive, supafly; so obvious, even to a "scrub" like me! (yeah, yeah, I know MJ was a red head- just not today!; I took a little artistic license here.. in other words, I liked her better as a blonde.. LOL)

Yes, MJ is a redhead. That looks more like Gwen Stacey... Nice work, though.

i don't know why everybody's busting your chops about mj being a red head, you clearly mentioned that in your description... color looks really nice (a little different than what i had in my head :) just a couple of errors though :( 1) the part where you color her hair blue is supposed to be hair to... 2) spideys soles are dark red... 3) his biceps (the part on his arm without wbbing texture) is blue this isn't critique since you couldn't have known that cause you're not the penciller, just wrote them so you can do an even better job... keep at it, this is really going some where! wasn't there a venom in this pencilpiece? srry i'm rambling, i'll shut up now :)
