Description

Shot this White Breasted Nuthatch yesterday, this tree is right outside my kitchen window. I keep the knot hole filled with bird seed, the squirrels and birds enjoy eating from it and I enjoy their company. The Nuthatch belongs to the woodpecker family and is the smallest of the woodpecker that visit my feeders. Thanks for viewing and for your comments.

What a pretty bird! There seems to be a peaceful scene captured here. Love the "flow" of the knothole. It seems to almost be like a slow wave. ;c) Excellent image!

Another one we don't see out here...or at least not in the Bay area...must be neat to have this view available right outside your window...

Great catch - love these little guys/gals - they spend all day at work (where I have window and feeders) taking my sunflower seeds and poking them into tree bark.

Our Nuthatch looks quite different in the UK. A super shot! I have not yet caught one in a pic although they come to the feeders quite often.

Excellent capture - do you have the red breasted nuthatch as well? The mix is about 50/50 here.
