Description

It's almost an exercise in futility to attempt to put into words the emotional reaction one experiences when standing on a ledge in the Blue Ridge Mountains during the full fury of autumn's psychedelic display. But due to some lucky timing that's exactly where I happened to be last late October, as evidenced by this photograph I took that incredible Saturday afternoon. You actually get dizzy trying to absorb the surroundings. Perhaps the wine had some input too. But not much. But your senses become completely overwhelmed. The fresh mountain air, the constant breeze in your ears, the warm sun (once the fog had lifted) and the sense you can see forever! And the colors tickle the retina in your eyes too! In a blur it looks like a multi-colored shag carpet. But upon closer inspection you can see the individual reds, yellows, purples, oranges and greens. What a wonderful feeling! You wish time could stand still. We'll return next year for sure! Thanks much! marshall
