Nice photo. FYI, The "y" is actually pronounced "th" (as in this). It was a writing evolvement from a kind of upside-down h (looked kinda like a 4 with an open top), from the Middle and Old Englich letter representing the "th". Early typeset used the upended h and the y as well.
