Description

In a similar vein to my "Old Apple Texturscape" photo, here is one of a peach found in the back of the refrigerator at work. YUM!

A picture of American middle class incompetence writ large. Peasants the world over know how to dry fruit properly, or distill it into something drinkable in the winter. Putting it into refrigerators doesn't do the trick, as you show. Gary B. Nash's Red, White, And Black is worth a close read. He notices among other things that the cultural knowledge of African slaves was an integral part of Southern agriculture. The Plantation owners were mostly interested in cash crops, and otherwise incompetent, as the War showed. If you read carefully, you may even find an inkling of the point in Gone With The Wind. It has since either been lost or papered over--the point that is.

Great shot. Amazing how 'life' comes from something that is 'dying or dead'.

Ah ha, So this is the first of the series. If you didn't identify it, you'd have had a good puzzler here. Outstanding macro. I'll have to look in the back of my fridge:-) Bill
