Description
Power of Shadows
After returning home still dealing with her betrothals betrayal in her mind and finding them both in the home together that was to be hers fueled Rune's rage as it fueled the new found dark power inside her. With an unnatural force she lunged forward piercing her former lovers heart, releasing him from the mortal coil. As his soul left it's shell it was taken by the sword. Rune withdrew the sword from his chest with a frightening speed as she turned towards the usurper of her dearest affection. Without a moments hesitation and the glints of the candle light off the edge of the sword she decapitated her.
After realizing what just happened a few moments later she ran from the house, with a flood of emotions going through her body, wracked with fear, pain, sorrow, and sadness. Rune ran and ran till she could not run any more. In her mind she kept replaying the events of the last few days, with a blinding repetition. Eventually her mind and body tired of these stresses of her new found power and destructive nature. At the same time what is left of her human side battles for control of her, causing her to pass out.
Waking in an unfamiliar area but familiar just the same, like dejavu, she placed the sword in the ground to prop her self back onto her feet. Unbeknownst to her she had passed out in an old burial site, one that had been covered in a mudslide some time ago. She began to feel cold and darkness start to overcome her, Rune did not realize what was happening to her. The long lost souls that lingered here were drawn into into her and the sword, for every soul that was consumed she got stronger and darker in her thoughts; making her inner struggle with what she was becoming all the more wretched and strife ridden.
