En mécanique ondulatoire, on parle d'interférences lorsque deux ondes de même type se rencontrent et interagissent l'une avec l'autre. Ce phénomène apparaît souvent en optique avec les ondes lumineuses, mais il s'obtient également avec des ondes électromagnétiques d'autres longueurs d'onde, ou avec d'autre type d'onde comme les ondes sonores.
In wave mechanics, one speaks of interferences when two waves in the same way standard meet and interact the one with the other. This phenomenon often appears in optics with the light waves, but it is also with electromagnetic waves we obtains on other lengths of a wave, or with of another type wave like the sound waves.
