Description

[best viewed full sized] Hello all! This shot was taken two weeks ago at the canal locks in Ellesmere Port. Chrissy and I had gone with the intentions of shooting the Stanlow petrochemical works and its reflecting lights across the river by dark and arriving there early we were lucky enough to catch a few dusk shots too. I'm still having difficulty finding enough spare time to be able to spend here at R'osity due to my working hours but I do promise to log in as often as I can to view the galleries and upload the occasional pic. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are, as always, more than welcomed and valued!

Such an amazing and well balanced capture! I love the vertical symmetry of the sky and river, and the long exposure gives the water a very soft and silky look that makes the entire image look almost dream-like. Beautiful work!

I tell you the same as I told Chrissy, it's nice to see you uploading again Carl, even though they are intermittent, they are always a pleasure to view. I don't have work problems anymore, I sure wish I did though, you'd think I would get used to it after 3 and a half years but I haven't. Excellent lowlight capture, used to know the area well, I used to work at Stanlow(Shell) in 1972/3. Bravo!!!!!

Always glad to see any of your work - spotty is better than none. This is really a clear and crisp shot. Quiet echoes...

Well this is a true reflection (no pun intended) of the mood and lighting that we encountered - the cold tranquility by the canal, I can almost feel it again just looking at this amazing mirror finish capture. A truly breathtaking shot Carl with impeccable clarity and a superb composition. I love how you have managed to show the textures of the mossy details on the paving in the foreground despite the low dusk lighting. You truly have an eye for a great shot. Chrissy xox
