i think this is a very effective and dramatic composition, and i think you use all your elements well. the light could do a little more to connect the woman and the backdrop, and it looks like there's no reflection on the floor for her, but the figure and the backdrop still work together and not against each other. the scenery seems so ominous. did she receive news so unexpected and unwelcome that it's turned the world grey?
