Description

Character concept, this time just 2d again, using only Photoshop and a hard edged brush, no textures or custom brushes. I started without any idea, just scribbled around and that’s what I got. I currently have a lot of fun doing no commissions and painting just for my own pleasure following no art directions, just for the fun of it for a while. I really needed a break from commissions as I’m pretty much worked out and need some new energy…

That looks so good--it looks almost like colored pencil to me, not digital at all--you are a master of the digital medium!

Believe it or not, I know how that feels. You get so bogged down with art briefs and taking direction from other people, that you forget what it's like to do what you want. I think is is a fantastic piece. Your skills know no bounds.

don't feel that way about commissions - push yourself even harder... I'm an artist that shelved my art skills most of my life... I've been jobless for weeks now - I would love to be having some art jobs.... One lady told me she was making a book and it was all copy writed... I said great, send me the words so I can read it and design these characters... What she sent me was Nothing - there was absolutely nothing there - that's been my experience as of late, no work and the one job I did look at I just shook my head over - you are blessed with work, enjoy it and build from it. I like you picture.

Wow. Amazing work ! I can certainly understand you wanted to do work for yourself. As a once was commercial artist, I found it hard to keep my own personal vision. This is superb !

Wicked! What a wonderfully creative concept! You are without a doubt the most talented artist I have seen here, for this type of art! Outstanding work!

It sure is nice to cut loose once in a while and do something for your own satisfaction. I like this 'Soultheif' you have dreamt up, very Cthulhu-like in design and ominous ! Well done & ~Cheers~

I know how you feel about time out,its not as much fun creating when you have been given some kind of request.I like to free flow to work at my most happy state!Love this creature, the evil is disgustingly charming! As ever you rock the fantasy world. As for the hair on my goblin, mask some lines with pointy ends from the forehead up and over to the back of your models head, extract at about .8,smoooth (a few times),divide and stretch with the move brush.I then clone the subtool and append more and more resizing and rotating as I go..:)Cheers cal
