Description

We had our 50 year old walnut tree cut down two days ago. It also offered an opportunity to photograph the procedure. Of the 142 images, I have selected two. One of them today and a special one tomorrow. I hope you will enjoy the images.

A very dangerous job, especially when the tree is located next to electrical wires or by a house. You gotta take it down piece by piece... Great shot, congrats!

I know this one well... Difference is, I don't have the climbing gear and rely on climbing the trunk, tying off with ropes, and using guide ropes to pull pieces off in the direction I want them to go. So far, in 36 years, I have only taken out part of one fence while downing 11 different towering trees. It was fun when I was young...not so much fun now that I'm old enough to know better. :-) Great shot.

If it was a black walnut I hope you were paid for it... a healthy black walnut of the size I would expect to see a 50 year old achieve is worth in excess of $30,000 USD. Anyway, great capture!
