My name is Tony Shaw and I have been working for a UK Bank since I left school in 1983. I have spent from 1990 working in their IT department as a software developer. With the threat of redundancy hanging over me next year, and having written a web-site for my Dad, I decided to train myself up in web and graphic design and as a result found Renderosity.
The graphic tools I'm using in my spare time are Adobe Photoshop, Bryce, Apophysis, Terragen and Vue ... I don't have any particular favourite as they all have their good and bad points.
I have not posted some of my very early works as they are quite basic and would not look out of place in comics, however I hope you will take time to browse through my gallery so far and any comments, whether good or bad will be greatly received as they will keep me motivated and hopefully improve my designs.
Happy rendering.

a nice sweep to the whole, even the way you skew the castle into the flow of the piece; and you've tilted the landscape to make us feel the flyer's POV...Also you made the sky & land into a liquid 'splash' which evokes flight of mind as well as of wings; and I love the reflection on one of the dragon's wings...It does feel like we're seeing from a flying creature's eyes; and your contrast of yellow-greens with saturated reds creates a kind of dream/unreal feel that suits the piece quite effectively. As always, thoughtful & creative work, Tony, everything you do is...

I love the pose of the dragon and the texturing (you're always great with texturing) but I don't like twinkling stars, may be one or two would've been nice but not all of them, also the POV is nice.

Great feeling of motion depicted in this image. Great camera angle. It is as if we are seeing what is ahead through the dragon's eyes. Nice work indeed!
